Jonas is an acclaimed data scientist who thrives on solving some of the world’s most complex business challenges. A former IBM fellow, Jonas is the leading creator of entity resolution systems. For more than three decades, Jonas has focused on technologies that solve the worlds biggest data challenges, while also being an advocate for privacy and civil liberties. National Geographic recognized him as the Wizard of Big Data.
His technology is being used in innovative ways, e.g., to modernize voter registration in America in a joint effort with Pew Charitable Trusts, helping the Singaporean government better protect the Malacca Straights (which carries half the world’s oil supply and one-third of the world’s commodity shipments) with a maritime domain awareness system.
A three-time entrepreneur, Jonas sold is company to IBM in 2005. With his latest company, Senzing, he is first focused on solving a critical missing link for General Data Protection Registration (GDPR).
A highly sought after speaker, Jonas regularly meets with and speaks to government leaders, industry executives and think tanks around the globe about innovation, national security and privacy.
He is currently the author or co-author of 14 patents and has been awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Science from Claremont Graduate University.
On a personal note, Jonas is one of only three people in the world who has completed every Ironman Triathlon currently on the global circuit.
